Anuj Khanna is Managing Director, C&S Electric and Vice Chairman, CII, Western UP
Hi my name is Rehaan Khaneja and this is the eight podcast of the Leadership Speaks series where I interview successful leaders of India's business world.
INTRODUCTION
In this episode of the Leadership Speaks series, I speak with Anuj Khanna, Managing Director of C&S Electric. Mr.Anuj Khanna, who joined his family business after completing his education, went on to become a hugely successful Industrialist. He then decided to exit the business at its peak in a deal worth over Rs. 2000 crores.
Many young entrepreneurs who dream of creating businesses rarely think about how they would exit the business if and when the opportunity comes. That's why I found this chat very interesting and different - because it looks at an aspect of entrepreneurship that very few of us few plan for - having an exit plan.
Let's hear Anuj Khanna's valuable leadership experience in the 8th episode of Leadership speaks.
In this video podcast, hear Anuj Khanna's advice for young and aspiring entrepreneurs about the importance of having a plan to exit any business that one creates
KEY LEARNINGS
In this chat with Mr. Anuj Khanna, here are two things I learnt from his life experience
This interview was about consistency - from making early life choices, seeking the best education, to managing complex and diverse businesses. There was much for me to learn and get inspired by. Here are my two main learnings from his amazing leadership journey -
1st: "Entrepreneurs must be ready with plans to exit situations, and not just plan for entry into new areas"
Many young entrepreneurs who dream of creating businesses rarely think about how they would exit their business if and when an opportunity comes. Having an exit plan allows us to capitalize on past success and move on to new and more interesting ideas.
2nd: Along with Education, Fitness is also a key factor for success.
Of the many hobbies one can have, Fitness is a very good one because it teaches you discipline. Fitness and Adventure hobbies allow us to look outside the box and see things with a different risk profile.
Since entrepreneurship has no one single formula for success, having a broad outlook and experiencing new things with both mind and body helps us to see things differently.
"Fitness is a good hobby. Fitness could mean anything... Gym, Sports, Outdoor adventures... Fitness teaches you discipline"
